Luis Oliveira

Born and raised in Switzerland, I studied filmmaking in London before returning home to work independently as a director, editor and producer. I move between fiction, documentary and commercial work, always looking for the human truth at the centre of a story.

My work begins with curiosity: about people, their inner worlds and the moments that quietly shape them. Whether I am directing on set or finding a film in the edit, I care about honest performances, precise images and leaving space for an audience to feel.

Since 2023, I have directed and completed six short films, edited the feature Home Swiss Home and collaborated with Swiss production companies. As a coach at Filmkids, I have also helped children and young people bring more than thirty of their own films to life.

For me, filmmaking is not about making the loudest impression. It is about creating something that lingers after the final frame. Story is what remains.
